The fall 2015 community connection quarter was spent working with the Men With Dreams’ (MWD) Rec and Reading program. We spent our time working in elementary classrooms to assist students with reading assignments and various tasks.
We had a great time getting to know the teachers and other volunteers, but of course, building relationships with the kids was the best. One of our team member’s favorite memory was receiving a drawing from his classroom buddy.
Another volunteer’s favorite memory was learning the variety of fun handshakes, like the jellyfish: our new incorporation for saying, “Job well done!”
“Thank you so much for taking time out of your work day to invest int he lives of Clinton 4th grade students!”
